LongStickMiddie founder Malcolm Chase has announced that his original LSM brand has merged with RPMLacrosse, a division of Around The World Productions, LLC.
The move, according to Chase, allows for a more inclusive approach to the training methodology that has developed hundreds of longstick midfielders and defensemen over the past five years at more than twenty locations across the United States.
"Every camp, clinic or private lesson with RPM will involve, at the very least, an introduction to functional movement, and how that translates to better sport specific mechanics and performance at an elite level. The balance between strengthening, speed-agility-quickness, and skill development is why so many of our students are mentally and physically prepared for competition. When you know you've put the work in, and done so in an intelligent way, then you are more confident, and great things happen on the field. The key is consistent effort and progressive programming that begins with evaluation and corrective exercise. We staff our events with coaches who are tough but positive, and have demonstrated a commitment to this approach in their playing and coaching careers." - Coach Chase commenting on what the RPM brand is all about.
RPMLacrosse kicked off their 2014 Preseason Performance tour in Austin, Texas on January 18. Traditional sites of LongStickMiddie events have already expressed interest in seeing what RPM has to offer athletes at every position. Stay dialed in to the new website RPMLAX.COM and follow @RPMLAX for updates on new locations, coaching announcements, and monthly giveaways from RPM partners.
We sit at the airport awaiting our flight home. As it is every year, my heart is full of love for my team, the Wimmer family, and this beautiful place.
Both the Wimmer Elite and Masters teams went 5-0 to take home the hardware once again. This means many things, but the most important is that the charities that Wimmer Solutions generously donates to on behalf of each lacrosse team that wins their respective division. I will go into greater detail about each of these in my next and final entry so any readers wishing to get involved can get information on how to do so, and learn more about how and why these teams are put together.
I do this every year, and as always, I ask your forgiveness when it comes to my delayed posts – but I’m playing lacrosse in Hawaii with the Wimmer Solutions guys! Hopefully, you can understand…
My team – my lacrosse family – is off to our usual start. We are currently 3-0 in the Elite and 4-0 in Masters, and looking strong in both divisions. Today Josh Rachman, Anthony Kelly (welcome), Andrew Wasik, and I had a total of 5 games for both squads between 9am and 5pm. It was an all-day grind, but the effort on this organization’s behalf goes way beyond punching the clock. 5 games in Hawaii? How could that be a bad thing?
So I wanted to be able to wrap up this article with an exciting recount of my first MLL game, to express what it’s like taking that first shift, landing that first check, picking up that first ground ball. This is not that ending.
So let’s keep it real.
I was beyond disappointed I did not get a run with the Cannons this year. All year long I stood on the sideline, cheering on my teammates, going as hard as I could in practice, getting my nose in every huddle to learn and contribute wherever I could. Selfishly, I wanted to experience those moments I mentioned above and more. I’ve talked about that line between wanting to get yours and wanting what is best for the team.I do not think those things are mutually exclusive.
